  • We do not accept insurance, however, we are happy to provide a superbill that can be submitted to your health insurance provider for potential reimbursement.

    As an alternative to insurance, we strive to make counseling affordable and accessible by offering low-cost groups that provide similar (sometimes even more) therapeutic benefit as individual counseling and a limited number of sliding scale spots.

  • No and yes.

    No, because you get to choose what we work on in counseling and if there’s a time orientation you’re not interested in exploring, we won’t go there. An example of this is premarital counseling, where the primary focus is the present and the future, with only a passing glance at the past.

    Yes, because we believe the past, present, and future are inextricably linked, so even though we may not explicitly explore your entire existential timeline, we will be considering it in some capacity.

  • While most of the “Romantic Partners” we work with are part of a traditional couple, we don’t discriminate against anyone who dares to challenge conventional relationships (so long as they are lawful). We believe love is love, everyone deserves it, and we want to help you find and sustain it.

  • Most people have heard of family therapy, but families are just one of several systems we belong to where unresolved tension can lead to undue stress. Whether you (plural) share surnames, alma maters, or places of employment, we’ll help you identify and repair whatever is grinding your gears.

  • Closer Look Counseling is not an emergency mental health facility and should not be contacted in the event of a mental health crisis.
